Bolt Solves Loose Belt
 ✖ |
David Simpler, Elkton, Md.: “I was having trouble with a loose belt on my Case IH 275 tractor. I just couldn’t keep the belt tight; it kept slipping and tearing. On the third replacement belt, I tried something new, and it stopped the slipping alternator issue.
“I used a 1/8 in. by 1 in. by 2 in. long bolt with a 15-degree angle cut, then installed the mounting bolt to rest against the alternator itself. It can’t go anywhere now.”
